Food Rescue

We participate in food rescue and redistribution projects that rescue surplus food near expiration and get it to people in need, collecting extra food that would otherwise be thrown away and giving it to local food pantries and programs. It helps fight hunger by getting good food to people who need it.

What is Food Rescue?

Food rescue refers to the practice of collecting surplus edible food that would otherwise go to waste and distributing it to people in need. This helps reduce food insecurity in local communities by providing nutritious meals to individuals and families struggling with hunger.

Key aspects of food rescue programs include:

  • Collecting surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, farms, and other businesses
  • Transporting and storing the rescued food safely
  • Distributing the food through local food pantries, meal programs, and other hunger relief agencies
  • Ensuring the rescued food reaches those who need it most in the community
